NEXT on the list...

So I just finished "Girls In White Dresses" and I have to say that it was an interesting and very different read.  The book is set up much different than most others I have read.  Each chapter focuses on a different character, but most of the characters have more than one chapter, and sometimes those same characters are in each others stories.  When I first started reading I thought that I might have to keep track of the specific characters and what their plot lines were, but as I read I realized that it was as necessary at I first thought.  Yes, sometimes you need to remember that you have already heard from a character, but you do not really need to remember what their specific story was.  I noticed that as I read I was reminded of who each character was and a little of their back story.
This book is about friends from college, and even high school, that are going through their 20's and 30's, trying to deal with relationships, friends getting married, friends having babies, and that feeling of being left behind.  It was a great read for me because it showed a lot of the scenarios that I am dealing with and things that I know my friends have and are dealing with.
I would recommend this book to any women in her twenties or thirties.  So many women could relate to at least one of the characters and can see that they are not alone with these feelings.

Okay.......BOOK 5--   "The Hunger Games"

I am actually reading this book for two reasons:
--many of my friends have recommended this book and I have heard great things about it.
--I am a teacher and we are reading this book as a school wide read-aloud.

I have to say that I am intrigued by the description of this book and all that it may have to offer.  It seems like a book that will have multiple twists and turns and will keep a reader hooked the whole way through.  Let's see what it has in store for us...

Til next time.

Book #4...

I finished reading Nora Roberts' The Next Always, the first in her Inn Boonsboro Trilogy.  I love any book that she writes and this one was no exception.  It involves a rebuilt country Inn (with a friendly ghost), three brothers, three girl friends, and the knowledge that there is a love story built in.  This book takes us on a journey with one of the girls, Clare.  She is a widow with three adorable boys and runs her own town bookstore.  Throughout the book she finds that even though she has loved once before it could happen again.
I am very excited for the next book in the trilogy "The Last Boyfriend", but it doesn't come out until May 2012.  There is an excerpt from "The Last Boyfriend" in this book, but I didn't want to read it right away for fear of the fact that I would  not be able to wait until May.

Next book of 2012:    Girls in White Dresses

I started this book yesterday and am intrigued by it.  It is written very differently than any other book I have read.  There are multiple characters that each have their own chapter, but are also interconnected.  The chapters are written with different timelines and show different places in the character's pasts.  I feel that you have to pay really close attention to the characters in each chapter because they may show up in other chapters.  Sometimes I read a character's name in one chapter and realize that I read it in another but don't quite remember who they were.  I'm still unsure if keeping track of the characters is important, but I will let you know.

Til next time.
